What is Scrip?

The concept is simple:  Anyone can purchase gift cards from over 700 retailers through St John at face value. St John then purchases the gift cards you ordered at a discount from the retailer.  The difference is profit to St John.  You spend your Scrip at the retailer, where it’s worth the full face value. 

Example:

You purchase a $100 Stodola’s gift card with a 3% rebate. You pay St John $100 and you get a $100 gift card.  St John pays the Scrip company $97 for your $100 gift card.  The donation comes from the retailer; not you.

Scrip Fundraising really add up!

If you and 25 others purchase a $100 grocery card and a $100 gas card every two weeks for a year it would add up to $4,550 for St John.  Just for purchasing the items you were going to buy anyway! When you add in gift giving and holiday shopping the donation continues to climb!

How to purchase Scrip

  1.  Review the Scrip offerings.  Take an order form for future use.  The stores listed have a local presence and are the most common used by other Scrip users.  We have these on hand for immediate purchase.  However, you can also purchase from any of the 700+ retailers.  Simply inquire if a retailer you use is part of the Scrip program and we can look up if we can place an order for their cards. 
  2. Bring your order to St Johns on Sunday mornings with payment (cash or check). Checks can be made out to St John Lutheran Scrip.  Any requests not in inventory will be ordered and available for pick up the following Sunday.
  3. Create an account on the RaiseRight website.  You will need our Enrollment Code in order to create your account.   Please request the current enrollment code. In addition to paying by check or cash you have the additional options to pay via bank account or credit card (additional convenience fees apply).

    When ordering online you have the option to purchase physical gift cards, eGift Cards and you are able to reload gift cards previously purchased through our scrip program.  Physical cards will be delivered as they are available.  All eGift Cards and Reloads will be electronically delivered to you once the order is released.  If you pay for eGift Cards and Reloads through your bank account or credit card, your cards will be available almost immediately for your use.
     
  4. Download the RaiseRight Scrip app to your phone.  You can use this to order or reload gift cards, manage card balances in the Wallet, keep up to date on retailer bonus rebates.
